ABOUT SCOTT

Scott Braid teaches all lessons at the studio. He has a wealth of training and knowledge to share with his students, and strives to get them to reach their goals...
 

TRAINING

  • Studied voice with Janice Webb, Auckland, NZ 1996 – 2001.

  • Attained Performer’s Certificate – Trinity College of Music 1998

  • Graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music (London) – Post Graduate in Musical Theatre Performance 2002

  • Studied voice with renowned London West End Vocal Coach and author Gillian Keyes 2002 – 2003

  • Studied Speech Level Singing in London 2008 – 2009

 

PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE

  • 1996 Role of Marius in Les Miserables – Hawera Repetory

  • 1998 Soloist and member of 11 piece vocal ensemble with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Bowl of Brooklands, Taranaki and Nelson Vineyard tour.

  • 1999 Role of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – Centrestage Orewa, Auckland.

  • 1999 Role of Young Ben in Follies – Auckland Music Theatre, Auckland

  • 1999 Soloist in Berlin to Broadway A Kurt Weil review – Pumphouse Theatre, Takapuna, Auckland.

  • 2001 New Zealand tour of Blood Brothers – Mickey and Eddie understudy

  • 2002 Cast member of ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ A celebration of Richard Rodgers – Theatre Royal Drury Lane with Gillian Anderson, Dame Judi Dench, Lesley Garret, Ruthie Henshall and Claire Moore

  • 2002 Choir member at Queen Elizabeth II 50th Jubilee celebration – Buckingham Palace

  • 2002 Lead role of Stone in Cy Coleman’s City of Angels – Royal Academy of Music Graduation show, London.
